Thank you for visiting our website, the home of the Shepshed Lions Charity Carnival.
Before its disappearance in the 1990s, the annual carnival was the most important event of the summer in Shepshed. It brought us all together for a celebration of our amazing little corner of the world and created treasured memories for all of us who grew up in the village.
So, in 2010, the Shepshed Lions Club decided to resurrect this most important of traditions and organised the first Shepshed Charity Carnival, so that current and future generations had the opportunity to get together and make their own memories… and importantly so that money could be raised to support local causes and those in most need within our local community.
The annual event has grown rapidly over the last eight years. It is now the signature event of Shepshed’s summer, attracting in excess of three thousand people each year. The carnival is the only true community charity event in the village and is organised and delivered by the volunteers of the Shepshed Lions Club, with all proceeds going back into our community – to those who need it most.
We encourage everyone in our community to get involved however they can, whether it be simply attending on the day, volunteering time to help with organisation or delivery of the event or by sponsoring the event. If you would like to get involved, please do get in touch. It is easy to do, all you need is to call Bob or Susan Lilley on 01509 508265 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you at Glenmore Park, Shepshed on Monday 28th August 2017.
